Congress may field former minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu from Ludhiana in Punjab, with which he will compete with his close friend Ravneet Singh Bittu on this seat.
Bittu is contesting this time from BJP. It is learned from the sources that Ashu has got the green signal from the Congress High Command for the ticket and he has also started campaigning internally.
Bittu and Bharat Bhushan Ashu have been partners of each other in politics for the last 10 years, who will now face each other on the same field.
