Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan's release from jail may be more difficult. Pakistan's Rawalpindi Anti-Terrorism Court has framed charges against Imran Khan and others in a case related to the attack on the army headquarters in May 2023. The incident occurred on May 9, 2023.

Imran Khan is accused of inciting his supporters to carry out the attack. In addition to Imran Khan, other accused individuals include the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, Umar Ayub; PTI parliamentary leader in the National Assembly, Zartaj Gul; and former Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid.

An Adiala Jail official present during the hearing stated that Imran Khan was brought from his barracks to the courtroom, where the judge framed the charges in his presence. However, Imran Khan has refused to accept the charges against him.
