In the SCO Summit to be held in Pakistan on October 15-16, the Indian Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar will join. External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal confirmed this on Friday. This will be the first time in the last 9 years that an Indian minister will visit Pakistan.
Actually, on August 29 Pakistan invited P. M. Narendra Modi to the SCO Summit. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan had said that an invitation has been sent to the leaders of all the member countries to attend the meeting. It should be said that Prime Minister Modi last visited Lahore in 2015 on a surprise visit. Meanwhile, he met the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Nawaz Sharif. After this, in December 2015, the External Affairs Minister of India, Sushma Swaraj, also visited Pakistan and after her visit, no Prime Minister or Minister of India has visited Pakistan till now.
