BY , Mar 5, 2020 8:22 PM - REPORT AN ERROR

CN Railway workers check the railroad crossing gate as they prepare to resume service after Ontario Provincial Police made arrests at a rail blockade in Tyendinaga Mohawk Territory, near Belleville, Ont., on Monday Feb. 24, 2020, during a protest in solidarity with Wet'suwet'en Nation hereditary chiefs attempting to halt construction of a natural gas pipeline on their traditional territories. The Mohawk community of Kahnawake confirms its rail blockade south of Montreal is being dismantled.

The blockade went up more than three weeks ago to support Wet'suwet'en hereditary chiefs in British Columbia who are opposed to a natural gas pipeline crossing their territory.

CP Rail crews were out yesterday inspecting the commuter and freight rail line.
