Shiromani Akali Dal continues efforts to persuade Harjinder Singh Dhami, many leaders visit his home

Senior party leaders Daljit Singh Cheema, Hira Singh Gabria, and Janmeja Singh Sekhon, along with several other Akali Dal leaders, visited Dhami’s residence in Piplanwala.
Senior leaders of Shiromani Akali Dal have appealed to Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami to withdraw his resignation as the SGPC president. Senior party leaders Daljit Singh Cheema, Hira Singh Gabria, and Janmeja Singh Sekhon, along with several other Akali Dal leaders, visited Dhami’s residence in Piplanwala.
The meeting lasted about two hours, but the Akali leaders were unsuccessful in persuading Advocate Dhami. Following the meeting, Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami stated that he had no intention of withdrawing his resignation.
He explained that he had resigned on moral grounds after the statement made by the Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht. According to reports, Dhami is planning to return to his legal practice.
