In the lead-up to the Delhi Assembly elections, opposition parties are targeting the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) over the pollution of the Yamuna River. On Thursday, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi visited the banks of the Yamuna, where he criticized Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, questioning when he would take a dip in the Yamuna now that 2025 has arrived. Delhi is waiting.
Gandhi pointed out that Kejriwal had promised during the last elections to clean the Yamuna and bathe in its waters, but five years later, the pollution and garbage in the river remain unchanged.
He also claimed that Kejriwal had failed to take any meaningful action to address the issue of Yamuna pollution. Recently, Kejriwal had accused the Haryana government of poisoning the river, an allegation that has led to a court summons for him. The Sonipat court will hear the case on February 17.
